Can You Fit 2 Fingers? The Rule of Thumb

collar size for dogs - two fingers fit while the collar is on 2

There is an easy way to tell if you have the correct size of collar or not. As a general rule of thumb, you should be able to fit 2 fingers inside the collar while it’s on your Australian Shepherd. If you cannot fit 2 fingers in, it’s too tight. conversely, if you can fit more than 2 fingers easily in the collar, it’s too loose. You want the collar to be not too loose yet not too tight.
